Knock Knock - it's nearly Neighbour Day!
We share a fence, a street front, a park and sometimes even a playground, however the dictates of our busy, modern lives means many of us barely know our neighbours.
So why not set aside a little time and get to know your Burns Beach community a little better as part of national Neighbour Day on 27 March 2016.
Neighbour Day is an Australia-wide program aimed at bringing people closer together – whether it’s for a chat over the back fence, an afternoon cuppa, a shared bottle of wine at the end of a busy week or simply stopping to say hello on your morning walk along the beach or Foreshore Park.
To celebrate national Neighbour Day, Burns Beach is giving away a hamper full of mouth-watering goodies for you to enjoy, either on your own or perhaps with a neighbour!
All you have to do to be in the running for this tasty prize is send in a photograph capturing the theme, ‘my neighbours, my neighbourhood’ and a brief description of what you love most about spending time with your neighbours.
Email your entry to email@example.com by Friday April 1 to be in with a chance!
Next time you spot your neighbours out and about why not stop, say hello, trade names and numbers if you haven’t already, and enjoy a little more of that wonderful Burns Beach community spirit.
